About the Role
As Quality Manager, you will set, own, and elevate the standards that guide product and process quality. You will develop and communicate site quality policies, lead and coach a quality team, and maintain a compliant and effective quality management system aligned to ISO 9001 and AS9100. You will partner across operations, engineering, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement, reduce the cost of quality, and strengthen customer satisfaction using structured, data‑driven methods.
Responsibilities
- You will establish and socialize quality standards and procedures so products and processes meet defined benchmarks.
- You will administer and improve the quality management system, monitor progress against quality goals, and facilitate formal reviews.
- You will lead problem solving and corrective actions using approaches such as root cause analysis, 8D, SPC, and CAPA to address customer, internal, and supplier issues with both immediate containment and durable solutions.
- You will guide activities that include inspection and visual standards, control of nonconforming material, and Material Review Board decisions.
- You will evaluate incoming material, in‑process quality, and finished goods, and work with operations to strengthen capability and stability.
- You will plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives that include value stream mapping, cost reduction, and waste elimination while capturing and standardizing best practices.
- You will manage required documentation under ISO 9001 and AS9100 and internal procedures, including PPAPs, control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEAs, measurement system and gage studies, and SPC charts.
- You will prepare and present clear, actionable reporting on quality metrics, trends, and risks to site and corporate stakeholders.
- You will engage customers and suppliers on quality concerns, audit readiness, systemic improvements, and joint action plans, representing the organization with credibility and a solutions mindset.
- You will lead, develop, and empower the quality team through coaching, training, and clear objectives.
Qualifications
- You hold a bachelor’s degree and at least six years of relevant experience in manufacturing quality with demonstrated ownership of site or business unit results.
Required Skills
- You have comprehensive knowledge of quality concepts and principles and apply them with sound judgment and independence.
- You are fluent in ISO 9001 and ideally AS9100 and comfortable producing and maintaining core quality documentation such as PPAP, control plans, process flows, FMEAs, MSA and gage studies, and SPC.
- You are a strong people leader who sets direction, coaches for performance, and builds collaborative relationships across operations, engineering, supply chain, and with customers and suppliers.
- You think analytically, communicate clearly in writing and in person, and use a structured approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- You are comfortable with data and reporting and with standard quality and business systems.
- Experience influencing budgets, strategic planning, and procedural change is beneficial.
- You have the ability to review and work with ITAR‑controlled technical data and documents.
