We are building the modern payroll platform for modern work. Our automated, flexible, and native payroll solution powers payroll for large-scale employers, such as gig economy and staffing companies as well as HR and back office solutions. We help our customers maintain compliance, and have the immense responsibility of ensuring accurate and timely payments to hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Our platform orchestrates the processing of more than tens of thousands of paychecks every week, positioning us as a one-stop solution for payroll management for businesses nationwide. We streamline the onboarding process for new employees, assist with tax setup, and provide a seamless workflow for employers to run payroll and manage compliance at scale.

Zeal is a Series B company, backed by top investors such as Y Combinator, Spark Capital (Plaid, Marqeta, Coinbase, Anthropic), and Portage. Our aim is to pioneer a new generation of payroll software that revolutionizes the way companies manage payroll and ultimately pay their employees.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Content Marketing Manager to join our team and contribute to our goal of disrupting a stagnant payroll software industry. As a key contributor on our go-to-market team, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to important marketing initiatives. We are looking for experienced B2B content marketers who thrive in an autonomous environment with high ownership, enjoy tackling big challenges, and want to be part of a mission-driven company.

This is a full-time, remote, position. Candidates living in San Francisco, CA or Boulder, CO will have the opportunity to work in person if they choose. Candidates must live in the United States.

This role will be reporting directly to the Head of Marketing. You will be closely working with our sales, success, marketing, and other teams to become an expert at relaying important aspects of our industry and our product to our audiences.

SOME THINGS YOU MAY BE WORKING ON

In marketing school they teach the 4 P’s (product, price, place, promotion); when it comes to content marketing we believe in a different 4 P’s (plan, produce, publish, promote). This role will own content marketing, including the 4 P’s.

  • Develop a content marketing strategy and establish goals for content marketing
  • Execute on content marketing initiatives focused on achieving business goals
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, design, product, and marketing to produce content
  • Support sales and marketing in the development of sales enablement assets
  • Own various distribution channels including social media, email marketing, blog, and more
  • Develop a content calendar, ensuring we are consistently releasing high quality content
  • Edit, proofread and improve content
  • Optimize content considering SEO, external traffic opportunities, and Google Analytics
  • Analyze web traffic metrics
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting go-to-market platforms (Webflow, HubSpot, etc).
  • Create an email marketing program from scratch, learning about best practices for email sign-up, design, and deliverability

YOU HAVE

  • A growth mindset.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales-led growth content marketing (or equivalent) experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in modern software tools such as Google Docs, Slack, HubSpot, Figma, Descript, Notion, etc.
  • Familiarity with various media platforms and trends.
  • Ability to create and edit high-quality written and visual content (videos, graphics, etc.).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute autonomously and proactively.
  • A strong opinion on how to create on-brand content.
  • The belief in using the oxford comma, that “to” is better than “in order to”, and “use” is better than “utilize.”
