About Us
At OatFi, we’re building the complete API infrastructure for B2B payment platforms to embed and monetize working capital solutions. We’re dedicated to enhancing financial access for SMBs, and supporting the ongoing paradigm shift happening in B2B payments.
By leveraging OatFi’s API, platform partners empower commercial end-users with the tools needed to collapse their cashflow conversion cycles, supporting organic growth while shepherding billions in offline payments volume online.
We are a fast-growing company offering an opportunity for the right candidate to join at the ground floor. At OatFi, you will have the chance to shape the future of fintech and make a significant impact from day one.
What we're looking for
Credit risk management is our core business. As a Director of Credit Risk at OatFi, you will be at the heart of what we do every day. You won’t have to fight for resources with other product categories or hope that your leadership understands the importance of credit risk management. From our investors to our C-suite, we have decades of experience building lending businesses and know what it takes to succeed.
We have established the core structures and capabilities to put you immediately in the driver’s seat of credit analysis and decision-making. A broad set of data, numerous existing partnerships, dedicated engineering resources, and the ability to deploy new automated decisions in minutes will empower you to make an immediate impact. You’ll also receive support and coaching from our experienced leadership team to maximize your current skills while continuing to grow in your expertise.
Despite the existing structure and support, this role is very much an opportunity to be a founding member of the OatFi risk team. We are not simply deploying what exists elsewhere, but creating new approaches to define the future of our business and the industry. In this role, you will have visibility into dozens of B2B fintech companies, provide direction on how to build successful credit products, and help discover or create winning strategies across the industry. There is much more to build and learn as we develop and scale the best credit capabilities in the industry.
Responsibilities
Analyze performance trends of new and existing customers to identify or refine indicators of credit and fraud risks
Oversee and update automated credit policy decision flows to incorporate new insights
Lead solution design efforts with partners and prospects to guide them toward compelling risk and reward trade-offs for the customers of their platforms
Monitor partner and portfolio trends to measure risk and return performance and identify areas for improvement
Help design and enhance our data environment to make credit actions easier, more impactful, and automatable
Collaborate with the lead credit engineer to architect the continued evolution of the credit risk ecosystem
Work with our Capital Markets team to ensure that we meet our credit performance metrics while helping to attract new sources of funding through strong credit performance, good financial product design, and creative exploration of market opportunities
Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure that credit risk rules and concerns are adequately addressed during partner setup and execution
Bring industry-leading practices in sound risk management, new data sources, and AI tools to life within OatFi
Minimum Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, business analysis, or consulting
Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., computer science, engineering, math, business, finance, or economics)
Strong interest in exploring business models, financial product design, and return analysis
Willingness and ability to handle a range of tasks required to achieve ambitious goals—dream, strategize, design, build, implement, and execute as needed
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting
Previous experience with small business or commercial banking products and customers
Credit risk experience in factoring or other trade credit products
Experience in Product Management or close interaction with software and technology development
Familiarity with SQL, Python, and Snowflake
