People & Business Operations Manager
Company Stage: Post–Series A SaaS (Entering Year 6)
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Experience: 4–7 years in People Operations, Business Operations, or Executive Operations
The Role
We’re hiring a People & Business Operations Manager to be the day-to-day owner of people operations, recruiting execution, and executive operational support for a growing SaaS company. This role is critical to ensuring the company runs smoothly without operational work defaulting to the CEO or COO.
This position is ideal for someone who has outgrown a traditional Executive Assistant role,brings strong judgment and ownership, and is comfortable combining people-focusedoperations with executive and leadership support.
Finance and IT operations are owned by separate teams, and we partner with a third-partyHR firm for complex HR matters. This role focuses on execution, continuity, and trust.
Recruiting Operations
• Own recruiting operations end to end in partnership with hiring managers
• Create job descriptions and gather market salary data
• Conduct hiring intakes and define interview processes
• Post roles and manage applicant pipelines
• Screen candidates and coordinate interviews
• Facilitate hiring decision meetings
• Draft and manage offer letters
Onboarding & Early Employee Experience
• Own onboarding from offer acceptance through first 30–90 days
• Set up new hires in Rippling
• Lead first-day onboarding sessions
• Ensure benefits enrollment and access are complete
• Conduct regular new-hire check-ins
People Operations & Benefits Administration
• Serve as front door for employee questions
• Maintain salary bands and performance review cycles
• Manage benefits programs and renewals• Maintain employee records
• Monitor morale, engagement, and retention risk
Legal & Employment Administration
• Manage NDAs, contractor agreements, offer letters, and option grants
• Serve as operational contact for employment-related legal matters
• Coordinate with external legal counsel
Business Operations & Administration
• Maintain operational trackers and documentation
• Plan and coordinate team offsites
• Manage administrative workflows and state renewals
Executive & Leadership Support
• Manage CEO calendar and travel
• Support COO scheduling and follow-ups
• Coordinate leadership meetings
• Support Board and investor materials
What We’re Looking For
• 4–7 years of relevant operations experience
• Experience supporting senior leaders
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• High judgment and discretion
• Experience with HRIS systems such as Rippling
• Ability to operate independently with little management
